Revenge

Here is another cover painting that I did for a magazine where I had the freedom to paint whatever I wanted. I had recently watched a TV History Channel segment showing how the American Indians had their land taken away from them by the White man. I decided to show the indian taking back their land at some future time.
It was not a good idea because the time for Indians to take back their land has long since past, the possibility no longer exists. They had their chance early, before the white man expanded westward, but tribes were divided, often fought each other, and no leader rose in time to unite them to prevent what happened.
On the other hand, science fiction writers are quite ingenious and there is no doubt in my mind that if any of them were given this picture to use as a basis for writing a SF story, they could easily do it.
