Recessional

This story deals with "Race Memory;" that way down in the deep recesses of our minds we have visual memories that relate to our ancestors dating back to the very dawn of man. And that these latent memories are part of our DNA.
So, under the right stimulant would I be able to "recall" an early ancestor of mine drawing a saber tooth tiger on a cave wall? And, do I like to draw and paint because he did? Because it is in our genes?
The human mind may well be the most important element created in the universe. Not all the star-filled galaxies come close to having the latent power that lies inside the human brain. But just how much power, and what kind of power the human race will achieve in the far future, as it continues to develop higher levels of science and technology, is impossible to predict.
But, if we do have a "race memory" hidden in our DNA, it seems logical to conclude that all of human history is being recorded in our collective DNA, and perhaps someday, in the very far future, our "race memory" will play an important role in the overall plan and purpose for the creation of the universe. There must be a reason why everything exists.
That's what I like about science fiction, it gives you lots of things to think about. Don't you think?
